What does a cat's tongue have to do with making art? Believe it or not, there is something called a Cat's Tongue Brush, but that's not what this crusade is about. Michelle has challenged us to add words to our art/visual journals.
This is a good challenge for me. I often create pages with colors and textures that I enjoy, but hesitate to add writing or anything else, for that matter. In December, I decided to start a journal based on the theme "HOPE". I have several backgrounds started, but few have any words. This is just the prompt I need to get me working on the hope project. I'll start the month by showing you my favorite hope page that I've already created.

Hi Regina,
ReplyDeleteI love your "Hope" Journal. You have inspired me!
I also LOVE your brushwork on #29. Very nice textures.
This crusade is just what I need, I am so timid about writing over my pages.
Beautiful Hope page. I like the soft colors, and of course the Bible verse is perfect. I like it written all wavy like that. Your little stamped and colored bird is adorable!
ReplyDeleteRegina - thanks for coming on board and showing a page already. Bravo for the handwritten words!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine better words for this page. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteHow cool that the Crusade encouraged you to start journalling your HOPE. That hope pin is a lovely gift btw.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful journal page and generous gift.
ReplyDeleteGreat verse! It's the one I used on the piece I just delivered.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. I love the flow of the colours, and the words themselves.
ReplyDeleteRegina,

This is great, Regina!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the distress inks were used for the background! Love the scrolling journaling. Nice work! Marlynn
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful, Regina! A handfull of prepared backgrounds is the best..I think...always ready for when the words feel like coming out! Perfect :)
